Full Body Massage at Huntington Park
Swedish massage is exceptional for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension. Swedish massage promotes relaxation, eases muscle tension and creates other health benefits. It can be slow and gentle or vigorous and bracing, depending on what the therapist wants to achieve. During Swedish massage, massage therapists apply massage oil to your skin to facilitate various massage strokes, including the smooth, gliding strokes called effleurage. Other classic Swedish massage moves include kneading, friction, stretching and (sometimes) tapping.
The term “deep tissue” is often misused to identify a massage that is performed with sustained deep pressure. Deep tissue massage is a separate category of massage therapy, used to treat particular muscular-skeletal disorders and complaints and employs a dedicated set of techniques and strokes to achieve a measure of relief. It should not be confused with “deep pressure” massage, which is one that is performed with sustained strong, occasionally intense pressure throughout an entire full-body session, and that is not performed to address a specific complaint. Deep tissue massage is applied to both the superficial and deep layers of muscles, fascia, and other structures. The sessions are often quite intense as a result of the deliberate, focused work.
Professional, Convenient and Affordable Massage Therapy is available near you. The goal is relaxing the entire body and this is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Additional techniques include circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, percussion-like tapping, bending and stretching. Lotion is often used to reduce friction and stimulate the skin.

Policy for Full Boday Massage:
Payment:
We accept cash, Master Card, and Visa. Payment is due at the time professional services are rendered. A $35 fee will be charged for insufficient funds on all returned checks.
Gratuities:
We have listed this solely as the result of being asked repeatedly what is proper tipping protocol. Gratuities to your therapists are solely up to you and are not required. We currently cannot accept gratuities on credit cards or added on to a personal check, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Insurance:
Insurance is not accepted as a form of session payment at this time. Some insurance companies will reimburse clients directly for massage services, and the responsibility for pursuing this option lies entirely with the client.
Illness:
Massage Therapy greatly influences the circulatory system and can exacerbate illness. In the case of an illness please reschedule your massage therapy appointment for your health as well as the health of the therapist.
Cancellations & Late Arrivals:
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored: 24 hours advance notice is appreciated when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice we reserve the right to charge the full amount of your appointment.
Late Arrivals:
Late arrivals mean less time with a therapist as we cannot delay other appointments and clients. Late arrivals will only receive the balance of the session, but will still pay the full price. We recommend clients arrive 10-15 minutes before their session. Provided you are on time, your treatment starts when you are on the table. We allow consultation time before and after each treatment and do not arrange scheduling like the corner massage factory. If you have a 60 minute session, please allow at least 80 minutes in your schedule to avoid feeling rushed.
Right of Refusal of Services:
To maintain the safety of our therapists, patrons, and other staff members, Beyond Basics Massage and Bodywork reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason. This includes but is not limited to anyone who requests treatments or services that are outside our scope of practice. We will also exercise this right if anyone arrives for treatment under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
